The Month of June is named after the Roman Goddess Juno, wife of Jupiter. As Jupiter’s wife she was known to be fiercely loyal, but also jealous and vindictive.
In Roman myth she is shown as a cruel goddess as well as goddess of family, marriage and childbirth and counselor of the state.
