Rumi meets Kabeer

A mehfil celebrating two of history’s most revered mystics-Kabeer and Rumi, this immersive performance explores the spiritual resonance that unites their poetry across cultures and centuries. Though rooted in distinct traditions, their verses converge on themes of love, devotion, and inner awakening. The evening weaves Rumi’s timeless ghazals with Kabir’s Nirguni bhajans, interlaced with stories from Kabir’s life and allegorical tales from Rumi’s Masnavi.

The narratives are brought to life by National Award–winning actor Ashwin Afraad, acclaimed for films like Shwaas and Taxi No. 9211. The performance is complemented by the musical artistry of Sawani, a classically trained vocalist guided by Vidushi Manjusha Patil and Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, leading audiences into a sublime and mystical realm.
