This month, Books, Chai & More, the Raah Book Club, will be discussing the book Suite Venitienne by Sophie Calle.

In Suite Vénitienne, French artist and writer Sophie Calle transforms obsession, surveillance, and chance into a haunting artistic experiment. After encountering a man, she had previously followed in Paris, Calle learns he is travelling to Venice and impulsively decides to pursue him. Over nearly two weeks, she documents her search through Venice’s maze-like streets in time-stamped notes, blending detective work with personal reflection. Both methodical and unpredictable, her pursuit becomes a study of identity, loneliness, voyeurism and self-construction. This celebrated artist’s book merges reality and fiction into an intimate, compelling narrative unlike any other.
